You will need to choose a domain name that is easy for people to remember, it should be catchy, kept simple, and does not have to be your company name.

STEP THREE - SITE CATEGORIES & DESCRIPTION
There are many pages you can have on your website, these are called categories. The most common categories are: Home Page, Products, and Contact.

What is your site description? (This description will be used by most search engines when showing your site in their search results.)

What are keywords you would use for your website? (These keywords are what people would type in a search engine i.e., Google, Yahoo; please make sure you use these keywords in the body of your website.)

STEP FOUR – PICTURES/LOGOS AND/OR DOCUMENTS
STEP FIVE - GATHERING WEBSITE INFORMATION
Suggestions on how to gather your website information:
- Research your competitors, how does their company differ from your company? (You may have already done this.)

- Detail your company’s unique qualities, i.e., services you offer, products you sell, etc.
|
- Take your brochures, pamphlets, and other materials you handout to your target markets, organize them in the layout you would like for your website.

- How was your company created? Why did you choose the company name you chose? Gather all history/background information on how your company came to be.
|
- Most Importanly, keep everything simple and easy to read.
|
- Get involved with your local Chamber of Commerce.
|
- Are you going to be selling products from you website (online shopping or e-commerce)? If so, you may want to think about getting a PayPal account, this will allow you to accept credit card payments without having to go to a bank or monaris, PayPal has all that set up already. (PayPal has a referral program, please let me know if you are interested and I will assist you in getting set up.)

- Give all your information that you gathered for your website to your consultant. Together you will create your website, depending on the amount of information you give your consultant, you could have your website up and running in as little as two days.

STEP SIX - GETTING YOUR EMAIL SET UP
With your domain name and hosting registered, it recommended that you create an email address with your domain name (i.e., info@yourdonmainname.ca) for people who would like to request more information about your business.
